I see them as aliens from outer space, or a piece of rope held at one end, twirled and whipped.
Hand bent and polished steel EMT conduit with an unpainted steel shade. Black round plastic cord with a floor dimmer for LED bulbs. Shade rotates almost 360 degrees and up and down 90 degrees. LED bulb included.

London plaintree (the most common NYC tree) clear acrylic base, solid brass shade and hardware.
Inline dimmer on a cloth wrapped black and brown twisted cord with a polarized plug. E12 Candelabra base socket, LED bulb recommended and included.

Piano Lamp/Table Lamp
I couldn’t find a piano lamp for my upright that I liked so I made my own. You can use it on a table if you’d prefer.
Hand bent and polished brass with an alabaster base and painted steel shade. Twisted brown and black cloth cord with an on/off toggle switch mounted in the back of the brass cube base.
The brass arm pivots 180 degrees where it connects to the brass cube base. Shade rotates almost 360 degrees and up and down 90 degress. LED bulb included.
Wall Lamp
A wall mounted lamp inspired by the piano lamp design.
Hand bent and polished brass with a painted metal shade. Cloth covered, brown/black twisted cord with an inline LED dimmer. LED bulb included.

Wall lamp and piano lamp cube bases start as unfinished brass. They are smoothed with files and wet sanded, then polished by hand.
Raw, unpolished brass is an apealing finish as well. That finish is available on any piano lamp or wall lamp.
